Angela McArthur

Angela McArthur

Angela has been the Chief Executive since December 2009. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Parole Board Executive (PBE), which provides administrative support to the Board. Angela’s civil service career began in 1974 in the Department of Employment. She transferred to the Scottish Government in 1990 and has enjoyed posts in Education, Corporate Services and Justice. Angela was involved in the introduction of the first Government funded CCTV systems across Scotland and she was also instrumental in setting up In Court Advice services in Sheriff Courts in partnership with Citizens Advice Bureaux, Citizens Advice Scotland, Consumer Focus Scotland, Shelter, East Ayrshire Council and others. During 2007-08 Angela led the team responsible for setting up the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission.
