David Young

David Young practiced corporate law in large solicitors firms between 1989 and 1997. He qualified as an Advocate in 1998 and worked on defending criminal cases in the high court and sheriff courts. He was an Advocate Depute from 2004 until 2010, conducting criminal prosecutions and appeals in the high Court. He was the first Depute Head of National Sexual Crimes Unit and appointed Queens Counsel in 2011 and a part time Sheriff in 2012 and presides over criminal and civil courts throughout Scotland.
